Construction Safety Manager
Location: State College, PA
Salary: $40-$42/hr, Based on Experience
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Safety Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of safety coordinator experience in the construction industry, with a strong focus on ensuring workplace safety through proactive hazard identification, compliance with OSHA regulations, and continuous improvement of safety protocols. Hours are Monday-Friday, 40+ hours per week. Have to be able to be on-site everyday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular safety inspections of construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and procedures to prevent accidents and promote a culture of safety.
- Provide safety training and orientation to construction workers, supervisors, and management.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, and incident reports.
- Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and other team members to promote safe work practices.
- Ensure all workers are equipped with necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and are following safety guidelines.
- Stay up to date with OSHA regulations and industry safety best practices, and provide guidance to management on changes to regulatory requirements.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification is required. OSHA 510 is a big plus
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a construction safety professional.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
- Ability to conduct safety audits, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and engage workers at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- CPR/First Aid certification required
