Part-Time Assistant Wrestling Coach

Penn State Altoona, invites candidates for the job of Part-Time Assistant Wrestling Coach. Penn State Altoona is a member of the NCAA Division III and the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC). Reports to the head coach and is responsible for assisting in the management of all aspects of the Wrestling program. This is a part-time opening.

Duties include, but will not be limited to:

  • Competition coaching
  • Recruitment of student athletes
  • Practice sessions
  • Assisting with team fundraising
  • Team travel

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate, and develop Division III student-athletes; knowledge of the sport and a verifiable ability to teach both fundamentals and strategies of the sport is necessary.
  • Must possess a commitment to high academic standards, and the NCAA Division III philosophy.
  • A successful candidate will have a reputation for integrity.
  • Applicants must be well versed in the sport and have 1-2 years of previous coaching experience.

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
