Environmental Member Assistant / Housekeeping

Full Time – Monday to Friday – Daylight

Altoona, PA

Senior LIFE makes it possible for seniors to remain at home, enjoying the comfort and reassurance of familiar surroundings while receiving the care they need. Our team is committed to partnering with our seniors to remain at home through promoting open communication and shared decision making while providing excellent care and services.

• General maintenance services, including repairing indoor and outdoor equipment
• Bi-weekly checks and repairs of air purifiers, ice machines and showers
• Monthly/quarterly checks of larger equipment, including HVAC filter belts, air curtains, kitchen vents and dryer traps
• Ensuring fire safety equipment including alarms, exit signs/lights and fire extinguishers are functioning
• Keeping floors, shower rooms, cupboards and beds clean and disinfected, with regular cleaning and repairs, as needed
• Standard housekeeping duties, including cleaning bathrooms, laundry rooms, front desk, offices and therapy areas
• Ensuring member linens are regularly laundered, repaired and replaced, as needed
• Maintaining clean, sanitary and odor-free member activity areas and clinical spaces
• Implementing a system to separate and clean soiled and contaminated linens

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience in a health care environment is preferred, but not required
• A positive, friendly attitude, ability to prioritize, strong organizational skills and a passion to help others
