UPMC Department of Urology – Licensed Practical Nurse, OP
Full‑time position in Altoona, PA. Monday through Friday daylight hours, 8am‑4:30pm – no evenings or weekends.
The role includes rooming patients for provider, triage, in‑baskets, urinalysis and specimen collection, Foley catheter insertion/exchange and removals, bladder scans, and more. The LPN supports clinical staff, maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
Sign‑On Bonus Details- $7,500 sign‑on bonus available for nurses with over one year of experience
- $5,000 sign‑on bonus available for Graduate Nurses and nurses with less than one year of experience

- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Assess patient’s general condition and take vital signs and weight.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
