Position: RN Staff Nurse (Nights) - T10 Surgical Progressive Care

Overview

RN Staff Nurse – 10 Surgical Progressive Care Unit. Night shifts with rotation and weekend/holiday rotation. 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (36 hours/week). Union position. Posted 4/2/2026.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care using nursing protocols and standards; administer medications and IV therapy per policy.
  • Assess and reassess patient and family needs; document and evaluate care every eight hours or as needed; involve patients and families in care planning.
  • Coordinate with community agencies and other professionals; participate in care conferences and maintain up-to-date care plans.
  • Engage in team discussions with medical staff to develop patient care plans; utilize

    Bed Management System, Alpha, CPOE, and other relevant computer systems.
  • Teach health information to patients and families; contribute to education of staff and students; provide leadership and guidance to the healthcare team.
  • Follow universal precautions and occupational exposure policies; identify and address environmental factors affecting patient care; maintain competency in required areas.
  • Complete annual competency validation and stay proficient in point-of-care testing as per lab criteria.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a current license to practice nursing in the State of Pennsylvania*
  • Must satisfactorily complete the Nursing Department's orientation program and probationary period.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards with didactic and skills demonstration within 30 days of hire
  • Must obtain one of the specified certifications within two years of hire/transfer (e.g., CCRN, CEN, PCCN, or other listed certifications); ACLS and BLS/CPR; NIH Stroke Scale; PALS
  • Act 33/Act 34/Act 73 clearances as required; current licensure in state where facility is located or multi-state license per NLC (with residency change requirements)
Compensation and Benefits
  • Night program option may include an additional $2/hour night differential, plus off-shift differential as applicable.
  • Starting pay reflects nursing education and professional experience; several pay tier options based on education (BSN vs non-BSN).
