ProgramOverview
The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is a development‑focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. It provides 16 weeks of self‑paced, collaborative training, combining virtual and hands‑on learning experiences. Your growth is supported by a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach.
Responsibilities and Expectations- Actively engage with your leader in key learning experiences to support your path to promotion during the structured program.
- Support your store as a management‑team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies.
- Engage your colleagues in support of the company's purpose of “helping people on their path to better health.”
- Be willing to accept promotion roles with the market that you work in.
Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion into a Store Manager position. Whether and when you are promoted depends on a variety of factors, including performance and availability of openings.
Required Skills- Excellent verbal and written communication to support and lead your team.
- Ability to perform customer care duties and deliver a high level of service.
- Capability to execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
- Skill in managing store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
- Willingness to accept promotion to Store Manager at any location in the designated market.
- Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market.
- Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.

Time Type: Full time
Pay Range: $18.50 – $23.88 per hour (base hourly rate or base annual salary depends on experience, education, geography and other factors)
