Link Service Heating & Cooling is a family-owned company since 1951 providing residential heating & air conditioning services to the communities of Blair and Cambria Counties. We are currently located in Altoona.
We are looking for an Assistant HVAC Installer at our Altoona location to join our team!
Work Hours40+ hours weekly, Monday through Friday, overtime and weekends as required.
Pay Scale$18.00/hr to $22.00/hr depending on experience, plus benefits.

Position SummaryAssist in installing heating and air conditioning systems to company standards, providing the customer with high-quality experience. The position will start with assisting a lead installer with opportunity to advance to lead level.
This position is open to anyone who is mechanically inclined and would like a career in HVAC Installation.
Required Qualifications- Insurable by Company insurance carrier.
- High school Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to invest time in training seminars and classes.
- Follow directions as given, written and verbal.
- Basic Safety knowledge of tools and surroundings.
- Safe use of ladders.
- Comply with ALL SAFETY RULES.
- Understand how to use a tape measure.
- Arrive on time daily.
- Demonstrate willingness to invest in tools used in the service of HVAC equipment.
- Dress in a workman-like manner.
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to use a hammer.
- Unloading/Stocking supplies and equipment.
- Unloading/Loading truck.
- Cut & drill holes.
- Ability to fill out a daily timecard accurately.
- Be able to carry 100 pounds.
- Insulate duct.
- Build platforms.
- Needs to be always supervised.
- Possesses both written and verbal English language skills.
- Demonstrate willingness and commitment to developing customer service skills.
- Acquire EPA certification within 3 months of entering position.
- Experience installing HVAC systems.
- Valid driving license and insurable driving record.
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling License.
- NATE install certified or obtain within 1 year of hire.
- Proficient in all HVAC functional design and installation of ductwork systems.
- Proficient understanding of refrigerant, gas and electric furnaces, heat pumps, troubleshooting and installation of all residential systems.
- Exceptional safety knowledge of tools, testing devices and surroundings.
- General knowledge in all HVAC low voltage systems.
- Ability to test and balance systems.
- Understand and apply all codes for residential.
- Able to train and supervise others.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to crawl in tight spaces and work in extreme weather conditions.
Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour.
