The Rides Controls Technician provides support to the Ride Controls Supervisor to ensure successful operation. This position is safety-focused and has consistent interaction with all other maintenance team members to complete tasks in a timely manner. The Rides Controls Technician provides support to all maintenance and construction divisions to ensure a successful park operation. This position is guest-facing and has consistent interaction with all team members in order to complete tasks in a timely manner.
We are currently looking for a:
Ride Controls Technician
Roles & Responsibilities:
Perform expert electrical maintenance for all rides, attractions, food stands, stages, and CCTV throughout the entire facility.
Respond to electrical-related issues in a timely manner; troubleshoot and repair any electrical problems in a safe and effective manner
Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company policies and regulations, including those established by OSHA, etc.
Develop strong practical knowledge and skills in the areas of electrical/electronic maintenance and repair, including PLC’s, Motors, Drives, Switches, Sensors
Maintain electrical services to park buildings and other structures
Conduct periodic inspections of electrical services to proactively identify issues
Participate in the setup of special park events (e.g. holiday lights, concerts, etc)
Research new trends and advances in electrical products to help remain current with emerging technologies
Promptly notify maintenance and/or park leadership of any escalated maintenance issues or safety hazards
Maintain all storage areas, shops, and mechanical areas in a clean, safe, organized, and secure manner
Safely operate company owned trucks, forklifts, and other equipment
Safely and effectively utilize standard electrical maintenance equipment and hand tools, vehicles, hydraulic benders, ladders and scaffolding, electrical testing equipment, welding equipment, torches, park rides, telephone, hand-held two-way radio, and manlift/forklift
Perform routine administrative tasks for the Maintenance department, including ordering materials
Assist all other Maintenance and trades team members with completing maintenance projects
Ability to establish priorities for self, and other team members.
Assess maintenance needs for day-to-day operations and off-season rehab.
Use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
Ability to trouble shoot and correct electrical and mechanical issues.
Replace defective parts when necessary.
Promptly responds to reports of problems and concerns.
Assists all guests in a courteous manner.
Maintain the grounds in a neat, clean, safe, and attractive manner.
Perform repairs following established safety standards and wearing necessary safety equipment.
Assists other team members.
Maintains all storage areas, shops, and mechanical areas in a clean, safe, organized, and secure manner.
Safely operating company owned trucks, forklifts, and other equipment.
All other duties and projects assigned by Maintenance or Park leadership.
Education:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
3+ years of college, trade school, or technical degree preferred highly desired;
