Duties
* Plans, organizes, and oversees all unit level deployment activities.
* Performs analysis activities.
* Provides technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership regarding unit deployment program.

* Disclosure of Political Appointments
* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
* The incumbent will be required to complete mandatory UDM training to include IDS/LOGMOD training, AEF Reporting Tool (ART) training, and Pallet Build-Up/Hazardous Cargo Preparation training.
* Noncritical Sensitive:
Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
* This position is designated mission essential based on local conditions. Mission essential personnel report for duty at normal times when the base is closed or delayed reporting and remain on duty during phased or early release.
* Incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
* Shift work and emergency overtime may be required.
* The duties of this position meet all requirements as a category 4 designation, and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent... CONT'D
* Federal Agency or office to function effectively. This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and cannot become a member of the Ready Reserve. (IAW: DoDD 1200.7, "Screening the Ready Reserve,")
* This is an Obligated Position in which an employee has return rights. Upon the employee's return, incumbent may be required to vacate this position. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series 0301.
SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and precedents affecting deployment operations. Knowledge of the theory and principles of management and organization, including administrative practices and procedures pertaining to areas of responsibility, channels of communication, delegation of authority, and routing of correspondence.
Knowledge of the administrative processes and documentation requirements to ensure deployment readiness. OR
EDUCATION:
Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or two (2) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
