Position Overview
The Class A or B CDL Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of materials along designated local and regional routes. This role is essential to daily operations and ensures all deliveries and pickups are completed in compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and capable of operating commercial vehicles in a variety of driving and weather conditions. Drivers are also responsible for maintaining accurate records, completing inspections, and communicating effectively with dispatch and operations teams.
This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a high level of awareness, professionalism, and accountability. Employees are responsible for their own safety as well as the safety of coworkers, customers, and the public.
Key Responsibilities
* Safely operate Class A or B commercial vehicles, including straight trucks, box trucks, dump trucks, or vacuum trucks
* Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment safety and DOT compliance
* Transport materials to and from customer locations, job sites, and disposal facilities
* Load and unload materials while ensuring proper handling and securement procedures are followed
* Maintain accurate driver logs (ELD) and all required transportation documentation
* Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding routes, delays, and delivery updates
* Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and traffic laws
* Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned equipment
* Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times
Minimum Qualifications
* Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
* Ability to meet all DOT requirements, including medical certification
* Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
* Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles in various weather and road conditions
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job duties as required
* Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
* 1-2+ years of commercial driving experience
* Experience operating dump trucks, roll-off trucks, vacuum trucks, or similar equipment
* Familiarity with ELD systems and transportation documentation
* Experience in construction, waste, recycling, environmental services, or logistics industries
Work Environment & Schedule
* Part-time schedule working 2-3 days per week
* Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
* May require early mornings, extended hours, or occasional regional travel depending on operational needs
Physical Requirements
* Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
* Ability to climb in and out of the vehicle multiple times throughout the shift
* Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
* Ability to work in environments with dust, odors, noise, and varying temperatures
