This is for a Part-Time pool position, assignments are available during the academic year. Applications are considered throughout the academic year and reviewed based on departmental needs. In order to maintain SACSCOC compliance, it is required you upload a copy of your transcripts for ALL degrees conferred.
Applicants with academic credentials from non-U.S. accredited institutions are required to have their coursework evaluated in terms of U.S. equivalency. All international credential evaluations must be conducted by one of the companies affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. in order to be considered for a faculty position. Applicants bear the responsibility of requesting, paying associated fees, and obtaining an original transcript evaluation for submission to the Office of Human Resources.

Terms of EmploymentRequires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include working days, evenings and/or weekends.
May require travel to our main campus in Alvin and/or to various offsite locations, including local high schools in Alvin, Danbury, Manvel and Pearland and to Texas Department of Criminal Justice facilities in Richmond, Rosharon or Lake Jackson.
Requires the provision of official transcripts and/or certifications within 30 days of hire.
Responsibilities- Supervise a diverse population of students in the laboratory at various times and locations
- Supervise all student scans performed in the lab setting by performing a “back scan” to ensure the scan volunteer has been thoroughly evaluated
- Review student images and waveforms, provide feedback
- Possess a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and oral
- Prepare and utilize a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution
- Prepare and maintain lab supplies and equipment
- Troubleshoot laboratory equipment including ECG units, stress testing/treadmill system, Doppler units, physiologic testing units, ultrasound systems and digital image archive system
- Access laboratory inventory to request additional supplies when needed
- Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilizes a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources
- Maintain current knowledge of all ultrasound systems and ancillary equipment in the lab
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of students by participating in health fairs, career fairs, college nights, program tours, and civic functions
- Advise students in academic matters or refer students to appropriate resources
- Assess students’ performance through a range of measurement activities and keep them informed of their progress in a timely manner
- Utilize technology to facilitate learning and to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others
- Assist in the development, distribution and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives
- Build positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community
- Submit timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions and departments
- Provide recommendations to the Instructional Dean, Department Chair, and appropriate college committees regarding curriculum, instruction and division operations
- Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities
- Adhere to Alvin College’s policies and procedures
- Attend institutional and departmental meetings as required
- Other related duties as assigned
