Advanced Academic Specialist - High School (007-100)
Primary
Purpose:
Serve as building consultant for gifted and talented and Advanced Academic coursework and programs.
- Education/Certification
:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university;
Texas secondary certified teaching certificate;
Minimum of 30 Gifted and Talented Education hour (6-Nature and Needs, 6-Identification and Assessment, 18-curriculum Differentiation); GT endorsement or passing score on GT supplemental certification test;
Master's degree in Administration or Counseling recommended. - Special Knowledge/Skills
:
Strong communication, public relations and interpersonal skills;
Knowledge of secondary gifted and talented curriculum. - Experience
:
Three years of successful experience as a classroom teacher; AP course instructor experience recommended.
