Assistant Club Manager

Pay

Hourly: $17.65 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high performing staff, including Member Service Representatives, Overnight Member Service Representatives, and Fitness Instructors.
  • Lead by example, maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests, and ensure staff follow superior customer service guidelines.
  • Resolve member concerns fairly and equitably.
  • Support the Club Manager with staff management, reporting, inventory, and other assigned duties.
  • Administer and enforce company policies and procedures with staff and members.
  • Handle front desk activities: answer phones, assist members with various tasks, check in members, and facilitate new member sign ups.
  • Ensure prompt opening and closing of the gym following proper protocols.
  • Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, including daily cleaning of the largest section.
  • Ensure safety of employees, members, and club property, and communicate equipment repair needs in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Willing to become CPR/AED certified before employment and maintain certification while employed.
  • Previous experience at Planet Fitness is a plus.
  • Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
  • Exceptional leadership, diplomacy, and listening skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
  • Strong problem resolution skills; hardworking, enthusiastic, and energetic.
Physical Demands
  • Continual standing and walking.
  • Ability to work the 3rd shift (overnight) alone when staff are unavailable.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Encounter toxic chemicals, frequent cleaning and sanitizing, and occasional bending, twisting, and reaching.
