Job Overview
Administer Basic Life Support and emergency medical techniques; serve as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) on a Basic Life Support/Mobile Intensive Care Unit (BLS/MICU); continue education related to medical advancements; and maintain ambulance vehicles and equipment.
Minimum Requirements- Prefer one or more years of Emergency Medical experience as an EMT and a High School Diploma or GED.
- Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Emergency Medical Technician
- Basic Certificate. - Valid Class C Texas Driver's License.
- American Heart Association
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (HCP) CPR Certificate, obtainable within six months. - Completion of NIMS courses 100, 200, 700, and 800.
- Must qualify and be recertified prior to the end of each certification period.
- Maintain continuing education hours within DSHS guidelines.
- Exercise professional initiative to stay current with new drugs and treatment procedure guidelines.
- Maintain ability to carry out standing orders within Medical Director's discretion.
Starting Salary: $17.13 an hour.
