Sign and Traffic Signal Technician

Job Summary: Under direct supervision, provides complex services involved in producing, installing and maintaining traffic control signs and devices; ensures safe, non-obstructive viewing of such devices. Ensures all work is performed according to City and department policy, codes and standards of quality. The incumbent must be able to perform a full range of complex tasks within a framework of established procedures, with only occasional instruction and assistance.

Reports to the Street Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Training and Experience Requires a high school diploma or GED supplemented by vocational training in electrical or mechanical repair work, plus up to one year of previous experience in traffic control device operation and maintenance and/or electrical repair work, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Special Requirements Possess a valid Class B CDL driver's license.
