Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance, testing, and repairs on natural gas and light oil-fired industrial boilers.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues utilizing test equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Conduct performance testing and inspections of boilers and integrated systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Execute basic electrical and mechanical repairs, including work on feedwater systems, water softeners, and air pollution control equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to accurately diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Fabricate and repair piping and structural components, utilizing threading and welding techniques.
  • Maintain thorough records of work performed, including hours, findings, and corrective actions.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients regarding equipment status, repairs, and operational guidance.
  • Uphold a strong safety culture by adhering to all safety policies, procedures, and risk management practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure continuous operational excellence.
Requirements
  • Proven working knowledge of industrial boiler systems and mechanical/electrical plant operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with electrical and mechanical testing equipment, hand and power tools.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented with a proactive approach to safety.
  • Capacity to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and use hands and tools consistently during an 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Comfortable working in industrial environments exposing you to noise, heat, dust, fumes, confined spaces, and heights.
  • Relevant high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical training in Instrumentation Technology or a related field is preferred.
  • 2–3 years of industrial boiler testing, maintenance, or service experience preferred.
