Purpose:
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose engines found on maintenance and lawn equipment such as tractors, mowers, weed eaters, blowers and edgers. Perform routine engine maintenance on related components in Maintenance and Grounds department. Test and inspect engines for malfunctioning parts. Repair or replace worn, broken or defective parts. Remove and reinstall mechanical and electrical components as needed. Follow all safety rules and regulations in repairing and maintaining various types of small engines.
Maintain records, test results, work performed as needed.
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas State Driver's License
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Adept to using hand tools and computer diagnostic equipment. Ability to work quickly and efficiently. Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent customer service skills. Knowledgeable in mechanical and electrical systems. Skilled in operating equipment and vehicles as they relate to the job. Able to lift at least 45lbs. Capable of multi-tasking and is detailed oriented.
Experience:
5 years in related Mechanic position.
Salary: AUX PG 7 / 261 days Starting: $23.40 hour
