Senior Accountant

Aergic Petroleum LLC, based in Amarillo, TX, is a growing family owned and operated petroleum distributor. We are looking for a highly motivated Accounting Manager to join our Amarillo team and contribute to our continued success. The Senior Accountant oversees core accounting functions, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, and supports month-end and year-end close processes. This role contributes to audits, financial analysis, and process improvements while collaborating across departments and upholding the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.

• Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements
• Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Maintain and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
• Manage or support cash management activities, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules
• Partner with operations, finance, and leadership teams to deliver financial insights
• Mentor and support the training and development of accounting staff
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, automation, and enhanced internal controls

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting best practices
• Prior experience in a senior or lead accounting role preferred
• Proficiency in Quick Books and advanced Excel skills
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
