Brown & Fortunato, P.C. is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our national law firm. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong general ledger experience
, solid technical skills, and the ability to manage financial operations in a professional services environment.

This position offers hands‑on responsibility, interaction with leadership and administrative teams, and the opportunity to contribute to a stable, well‑established organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review financial statements and timekeeper profitability analysis
  • Manage general ledger accounting
    , including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close
  • Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations
  • Support internal controls
    , audit readiness, and compliance initiatives
  • Conduct financial analysis
    , including annual budgeting and variance analysis
  • Oversee and assist with the billing process
    , including supporting documentation
  • Support government reporting and compliance requirements
  • Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central accounting software
  • Work closely with administrative staff while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 7+ years of experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or professional services
  • Strong understanding of debits & credits, general ledger accounting
    , and financial statement preparation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
  • Experience with accounting or ERP systems preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a deadline‑driven environment
