OVERVIEW

CMMS CPAs & Advisors PLLC, an ATLAS Navigators Firm, seeks a dedicated Audit Associate to join our Amarillo office. As a key member of our audit team, you will play an essential role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our clients’ financial statements. You’ll work closely with Directors, Managers, and CPAs to support audit engagements and internal control reviews while delivering exceptional client service.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform audit procedures in accordance with engagement plans and firm methodology
  • Prepare, organize and index audit work papers
  • Assist with planning and completion of attest engagements
  • Test internal controls and document findings
  • Analyze financial data and investigate variances
  • Participate in client fieldwork under supervision
  • Communicate with client personnel to obtain documentation and clarify information
  • Track assigned budget hours and communicate variances
  • Complete firm required training
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
  • Experience with audit or accounting software (e.g., CCH)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 0-2 years of public accounting or related experience
  • Internship experience in audit or assurance preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to operate a variety of machines and equipment, including computer, office equipment, telephone, etc. Tasks may require extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
