Position: Staff Accountant I

Staff Accountant

MH Civil is looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will play an essential part in managing daily accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting month-end close processes. As a Staff Accountant, you will work closely with operations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting, assist with reconciliations, and contribute to our commitment to financial integrity.

What you'll do:
  • Data Gathering and Entry: You will be the master of records, ensuring all financial data is accurately entered into our system. This includes scanning and reviewing bills to prevent discrepancies that could impact financial statements.
  • Credit Card Management: Take charge of entering and coding credit card charges. You will meticulously pull receipts from Expensify, ensuring each transaction aligns with company policies and budgetary constraints.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Stay on top of our financial pulse by updating bank feeds regularly. You will match bank data with our internal records, ensuring all transactions are synchronized and errors are caught early.
  • Rent and Lease Entries: Handle the entry of rents and leases with precision, ensuring every detail is accounted for and recorded correctly in our financial systems.
  • Participates in meetings with operations, accounting, and related departments.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.
What you'll need to succeed:
  • Basic understanding of clerical and administrative procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to solve problems as they arise.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, Oracle Net Suite, Intuit Quick Books, or similar software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or vocational school training preferred.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift to 40 pounds at a time.
