Overview
Texas Oncology, part of US Oncology Network, seeks a Patient Services Coordinator to join our team. This full‑time position supports the Oncology Department at the 1826 Point West Parkway clinic in Amarillo, Texas. Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Benefits include PTO, health, vision, and dental insurance.
Responsibilities- Greets patients and visitors, checks in patients and informs clinical staff of arrival.
- Provides and explains paperwork for patients to complete prior to examination, collects, proofs, and files forms, updates demographics and insurance information, and collects co‑pays and balances.
- Answers, screens, and responds to routine calls, routes to appropriate personnel, and takes thorough messages.
- Checks patients out after examination, schedules return appointments in accordance with physician or office guidelines, and provides appointment details.
- Records cancellations and missed appointments, reschedules as needed, and notifies staff.
- Provides general administrative support by filing charts and forms, maintains lobby area orderly, and keeps office supplies available.
- Adheres to confidentiality laws and HIPAA guidelines regarding patient records.
- Other duties as requested or assigned; may type memos and forms.
Level 1:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Some receptionist or office experience preferred.
- Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Must complete required e‑learning courses within 90 days of starting.
Level 2:
- At least 18 months front‑medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.
- Knowledge of practice personnel, daily routines, and scheduling a plus.
Level Sr:
- At least 5 years front‑medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.
Regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching. Must occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds. Requires vision and hearing within normal corrective ranges.
