Specialist III

Position Description

Performs responsible, specialized duties within a unit of a department. Responsibilities include activities which require knowledge of departmental procedures. Employee performance is based upon a review of completed work and overall results obtained. May supervise clerical employees.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Ensure the accurate, timely and secure handling of all incoming and outgoing mail
  • Receive, sort and distribute mail to correct departmental mailboxes
  • Deliver mail to buildings on campus
  • Prepare and send all outgoing mail to a third‑party processor
  • Log all certified packages and ensure signature upon delivery
  • Willing to operate a company vehicle to complete scheduled weekly pickups
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Occasional Duties
  • Schedule rental requests for fleet vehicles
  • Bill for rentals upon return, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation
  • Resupply copier toner and paper as requested for copiers serviced by our department
Preferred Qualifications
  • MUST have a valid State of Texas driver's license with a good driving record
  • Basic computer abilities in Microsoft applications
Required Qualifications
  • High school plus 3 years experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
