Job Overview
Tyson Foods is seeking a driven and detail‑oriented Accounting & Payroll Intern to support our Amarillo Complex. This role offers hands‑on experience in payroll operations, administrative support, and financial processes within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support payroll processing through accurate data entry, validation, and reconciliation activities.
- Assist with administrative tasks including record maintenance, reporting, and documentation.
- Apply basic math and problem‑solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional office teams and provide support coverage across work areas as needed.
- Adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
- Skill Development:
Build foundational experience in payroll operations, data accuracy, and financial administration. - Summer Series:
Participate in weekly networking and development sessions with leaders across Tyson. - Competitive Pay:

- Education:
Incoming junior, senior, or graduate student with at least one semester remaining. - Preferred majors:
Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. - Experience:
Previous work experience preferred; exposure to office, payroll, or administrative functions is a plus. - Communication & Professional
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication, ability to follow processes, policies, and detailed instructions; professional, reliable, and collaborative. - Technical & Analytical
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) required; basic knowledge of financial or payroll systems (SAP exposure is a plus); strong data entry accuracy, numerical aptitude, and attention to detail. - Work Behaviors:
Self‑motivated and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment; strong organization and time‑management skills; willingness to learn and cross‑train across office functions.
Available to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer. Must have flexibility for early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends based on business needs.
LocationAmarillo, TX (Tyson Foods Complex). Must reside within a commutable distance (60 miles or less) unless relocation is provided.
