PRIMARY
PURPOSE:
Positively impact the efficient operation of office routines and practices associated with a busy, productive, and smoothly run office so it can play its effective part in the education process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent. College and computer classes helpful.
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of data processing systems and applications. Ability to prioritize. Basic math skills. Excellent reading and grammatical skills. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Suite. Attention to fine details. Ability to meet deadlines. Proof of typing >40 WPM- required.

Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals. Posture:
Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Motion:
Repetitive hand motions including prolonged keyboarding & use of mouse; occasional reaching. Lifting:
Occasional lifting and carrying (less than 40 pounds). Environment:
May work with frequent interruptions;
Must maintain professional demeanor under stress;
Must have problem solving skills. Regular attendance is an essential function.
Minimum Experience:
Have appropriate clerical or secretarial experience as required by supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assist students and parents who come in office for assistance
- Understand homeless laws and guidelines for assisting families
- Answer telephone, take messages, communicate with ESC and campus employees
- Order school supplies for students, organize travel for employees, enter requisitions and vouchers
- Maintain budgets for McKinney Vento, Title I and Texshep.
- Keep daily records of services rendered to families from all AISD schools.
- Assist Liaison with 5 mandated reports each year on services rendered to families.
- Assist Liaison with secretary and clerk training 2 times a year about homeless laws, enrolling procedures for homeless students and the complaint process.
- Requisition s materials for summer and after school programs.
- Maintains auditable records for Federal Programs.
- Be familiar with and follow all FERPA laws and requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information and student records.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all local policies and state and federal statutes including the Educator Code of Ethics.
- Perform such other tasks and accepts such other responsibilities as may be assigned.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $14.35 Per Hour
