What You'll Do
  • Support Metrology Operations and other organizations with processes involving calibration of measurement standards and other measurement and test equipment
  • Read, interpret and apply complex drawings, schematics and specifications
  • Generate MOX Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) reports, Crystal Reports, and in depth Microsoft (MS) Excel Reports
  • Looking for a Structured Query Language (SQL) developer to assist in Microsoft Structured Query Language [MS-SQL] queries and procedures, create custom reports, and modify user forms to enhance org productivity
  • Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures and functions using t‑sql (Transact‑Structured Query Language)
  • Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements. Build appropriate and useful reporting deliverables
  • Research required data to validate the accuracy of the data
  • Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements
  • Further preferable skills include LIMS operation (MOX), technical software (e.g., Mathcad), relational database queries (e.g., SQL or Crystal Reports), and relevant programming languages(e.g., MOX scripting, Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench [LabVIEW], Metrology Calibration [Met/Cal], Personal Computer Dimensional Measurement Inspection Software [PC‑DMIS] , Quindos)
  • Supporting and administrating the MOX platform
  • Ability to exchange and use information between software applications
  • Mentor less experienced co‑workers in the metrology field
  • Develop precision measurement criteria. Set up instrument specifications and test points in Metrology’s LIMS
  • Develop, optimize, write and maintain detailed calibration procedures
  • Manage the LIMS and write and maintain LIMS data reports and evaluate metrology technician proficiency
  • Interpret and comply with technical, operational, and maintenance, quality, safety and security requirements
  • Provide software technical support for internal and external customers
Minimum

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree:
    Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree:
    Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 12 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.
DOE Order 426.2A Requirements
  • In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, 2 years job-related and at least 1 year nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE O 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence‑scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 709. Medical requirements may apply.
