The GTC Transactional Specialist is responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of all document processing for distribution transactions.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and ExperienceHigh school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 7 to 11 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication SkillsAbility to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, notes, letters and memos; ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.
Critical Thinking SkillsAbility to use common sense understanding in order to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few known variables in situations of a routine nature.
Software Skills RequiredBasic: 10-Key, Accounting, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing.
Additional Information- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Internet, e-mail and a working knowledge of accounting software.
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to multi-task and be detail oriented.
- Must have the ability to interpret documents such as operating instructions and procedure manuals.
- Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Must have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must have working knowledge of accounting principles to include G/L processing.
Periodic exposure to noise, intermittent standing, walking, pushing, carrying, or lifting; none are present to the extent of being disagreeable. Noise level is usually quiet. Physical activities include moderate diversity, low physical; occasional lifting up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required: close vision.
