School Crossing Guard Sub (Part-time)
Under the general supervision of the School Crossing Guard Supervisor, this position is responsible for guiding and escorting children across marked crosswalks on busy streets with an LED Stop Paddle and safety vest during peak school hours. Other responsibilities include daily counts of kids at their assigned crosswalk, reporting any marked crosswalk or any school signage that needs maintenance, handles customer complaints on site, and dresses appropriately for the weather conditions.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Required to assist children at an assigned school crossing crosswalk.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have a telephone
- Must have reliable means of transportation to work at any school crossing site with limited notice
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Must pass a background check
- Ideal for retired persons
- Required to work at any site with limited notice
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School or GED is preferred
- Previous related experience is preferred
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand for the period of time required at work site
- Must be able to hear and see
- Works around outside traffic and in all weather conditions
