Job Description
The Field Superintendent will work within the Construction Management Department and report directly to the Project Superintendent and Construction Manager. The role involves managing projects from start to finish, supervising the project team, scheduling, ensuring quality, and maintaining a safe working environment. The Superintendent will also coordinate with other Field Superintendents, superintendents, subcontractors and craft employees on fast‑tracked hi‑tech buildings, located near Claude & Childress, TX.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate day‑to‑day activities with other superintendents and subcontractors.
- Supervise multiple subcontractors and craft employees.
- Maintain and adjust project schedule daily.
- Manage and enforce safety protocols.
- Resolve design and constructability issues.
- Respond to customer/client requests and develop solutions using technical expertise.
- Interpret and implement proper installations in compliance with local authorities, codes and site specifications.
- Provide supporting information regarding field conditions and scope for cost estimates.
- Ensure contractor performance in accordance with contractual agreements.
- Assist with project staffing.
- Communicate clearly verbally, in writing and electronically.
- Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, consultants and subcontractors.
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience.
- Thorough understanding of all aspects of construction.
- Experience in organizing technical data and familiarity with CSI specification system.
- Ability to work closely with trade and craft people in a field work situation; patient and professional.
- Skill in handling multiple tasks while frequently interrupted by phone calls and urgent questions.
- Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniques.
- Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must work closely with project owners, architects, engineers, vendors and subcontractors.
- Dedicated team player, self‑starter, flexible and capable of working well with diverse personalities under minimal instruction; remains calm under high pressure.
- Physical ability to access all areas and levels of a construction site.
- Flexible work schedule to accommodate extended hours or off‑shift work.
- Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Bluebeam.
- Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E‑Builder, Microsoft Project and Primiera Project Planner (P6).
- Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent degree and/or equivalent craft‑level work experience.
- Work involves standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs and using ladders and scaffolds.
- Operation of computers and office machinery and handling materials up to 50 pounds.
- Good vision, hearing and speech capabilities required.
- Must use independent judgment and problem‑solving skills to achieve desired results.
$88,400 - $163,000 per annum + 12% geographic uplift and additional compensation for temporary relocation ($4,000+/month).
