Assistant Professor

Position Description

Serve as faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics in Amarillo, Texas. Responsibilities include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in Pediatrics and Hematology/Oncology, providing inpatient and clinical care, maintaining clinical records, engaging in clinical research and writing, and providing community and university service.

• Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, patient care, research, and service.
• Teaching residents and medical students.
• Giving lectures and teaching sessions to residents and medical students.
• Medical practice in area of Pediatrics.
• Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.

• Maintain or develop an academic research program in the fields of Pediatrics and Hematology/Oncology.
• May conduct inpatient teaching rounds.

• M.D., D.O., or foreign medical degree equivalent.
• Completion of pediatrics residency.
• Board certified in Pediatrics.
• Eligible to obtain a Texas State Medical License.

TTUHSC may initiate new H‑1B I‑129 visa petitions at its sole discretion. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case‑by‑case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change‑of‑status or change‑of‑employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee if applicable.
