Lake Tanglewood Church is seeking a dedicated Youth Pastor / Associate Pastor to grow our Youth Program and support the broader ministry of the church.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Walk alongside students in faith, friendship, and growth.
- Lead, teach, and grow a vibrant, Christ‑centered youth ministry.
- Plan and lead regular youth gatherings, Bible studies, and worship opportunities.
- Build authentic, trustworthy relationships with students and their parents.
- Disciple and mentor students through questions of faith, doubt, identity, and life challenges.
- Organize youth service projects, retreats, mission trips, and fellowship activities.
- Recruit, train, and support adult youth volunteers and leaders.
- Maintain appropriate safety standards and boundaries in all youth interactions.
- Communicate consistently with families and the congregation.
- Preach from time to time and assist with pastoral duties as needed.
- Coordinate with the senior pastor and church staff on overall vision and calendar.
- Active, supportive member of Lake Tanglewood Church with regular worship attendance.
- Affirm, agree with, and faithfully uphold the Lake Tanglewood Church Statement of Faith.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies or related field; master’s degree preferred but not required.
- Prior youth ministry experience preferred.
- Demonstrated love for studying the Bible and daily commitment to Scripture reading.
- Strong character, sound judgment, and healthy personal boundaries.
- Gifted communicator able to teach Scripture in ways that connect with teenagers.
- Relational, reliable, and a consistent presence for students.
- Organizational skill to plan events and lead volunteers.
- Work ethic: diligent, hardworking, self‑starter, team player, and teachable.
- Enjoyment of the outdoors and outdoor activities is helpful.
- Full‑time position.
- Salary based on merit.
- Reports to Senior Pastor / Elder Board Pastor Jon Kohler.
- Location:
Lake Tanglewood, Amarillo, Texas.
