Job Description PrimaryPurpose:
To provide for the delivery of technical assistance and professional development in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of activities that address the unique needs of the Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in the area of Secondary Math. Utilize an effective and efficient planning process based on pertinent student, campus, and district data sources for the purpose of assisting LEAs in instructional improvement and the meeting of LEA and ESC accountability requirements.
Specifically supporting our districts as they prepare students for Algebra I End of Course Exams.
Education/Certification
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree preferred
- Texas teaching certification required
- Experience teaching secondary math required
- Texas Teaching experience required
- Demonstrated ability to set goals and creatively problem solve
- Must be service oriented and display initiative
- Demonstrated ability to manage time, calendar, job responsibilities, and travel
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team setting required
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to team/organizational goals
- Proven ability to deliver content-specific professional development as well as systemic best practice (e.g., campus-wide/district-wide) professional development
- Proven ability to train and coach personnel in various school roles (e.g., teachers, support staff, principals, central office staff)

Must be physically able to tolerate prolonged sitting, frequent standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting, and standing - Motion:
Must be physically able to tolerate frequent standing and walking, repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching, occasional driving - Lifting:
Must be physically able to tolerate regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds or more) - Environment:
Must be physically able to work inside; tolerate frequent region wide travel and occasional statewide travel; regular exposure to noise - Mental Demands:
Must be able to work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours on occasion - Regular Attendance is an essential function
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provides effective, research-based secondary math instructional support and coaching for Region campuses and districts aligned with the ESC model. Accurately documents technical assistance. Delivers essential professional development, utilizing expertise to enhance instructional practices, with a focus on designing and delivering engaging sessions, whether face-to-face or through alternative methods.
- Provides content, best practices and pedagogical expertise in technical assistance and professional development to support improvement of instructional practices for monitoring and evaluating student learning
- Collaborates with colleagues in and beyond the ESC to identify professional development needs through detailed data analysis and self-reflection to provide quality services to customers that positively impact student learning
- Sets, modifies, and meets short- and long-term professional goals based on
self-assessment, reflection, peer and supervisor feedback, contemporary research, and analysis of student learning
- Provides state-mandated trainings, if applicable
- Creates ongoing collegial relationships with customers
- Travels as a part of job responsibilities
