Position Summary

Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of related disciplines. Serves as a staff advisor and consultant in a technical specialty, facility or equipment, or program function. Carries out complex or innovative assignments requiring development of new or improved techniques and procedures. Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects and interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters.

Work is performed with minimal direction and considerable latitude in determining technical objectives. May lead multiple projects of moderate to large size or portions of major projects.

• Applies extensive technical expertise and demonstrates the core competencies for this engineering level by leading projects of moderate to large size, scope, and complexity.
• Work is largely self-directed; develops technical documentation (designs, calculations, reports, standards, etc.) and provides field engineering oversight and direction for activities such as support, testing, installation, inspections, commissioning, etc.
• Coordinates and leads multiple projects or portions of projects, potentially including phases from research through commissioning; may lead more critical projects with higher-level oversight.
• Represents the organization as the prime technical contact in bid/evaluation processes, including preparation of bid documents and technical evaluations; interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters.
• Resolves difficult technical/business matters with precision across internal and external stakeholders; provides guidance to engineers, technicians, and support staff; supports continuous self-development of technical skills.
• Leads budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and work-order management in support of engineering projects.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET-accredited curriculum; electrical engineering degree preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering experience; demonstrated broad knowledge in the specialty and related disciplines.
• Ability to demonstrate the unique technical skills and core competencies for this engineering level as established by the organization.
• EIT/FE strongly preferred.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET-accredited curriculum; electrical engineering degree preferred.
• 5+ years relevant engineering experience with EIT/FE required; 7+ years without EIT/FE.
• Ability to demonstrate the unique technical skills and core competencies for this engineering level as established by the organization.
• Preferred PE (Professional Engineer) registration may be required depending on business need.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET-accredited curriculum; electrical engineering degree preferred.
• 9+ years relevant engineering experience with PE registration required; 15+ years without PE.
• Ability to demonstrate the unique technical skills and core competencies for this engineering level as established by the organization.

• Master's degree or higher in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
• Electric power transmission planning engineering experience
• PE certification
