Specific Job Responsibilities
The Windchill Software Engineer will focus on providing quality solutions to support Pantex Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Systems and Digital Transformation initiatives. This individual will contribute to the design, installation and configuration of Windchill and software interfaces. This person is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining Windchill environments.
Core Responsibilities Include
- Lead Windchill requirements gathering sessions and contribute to the design of solutions to solve business challenges.
- Carry out technical requirements for configurations, customizations and system integrations.
- Conduct gap analysis and advise on solutions.
- Produce supporting and technical documentation.
- Support test procedures and test plans.
- Lead implementation, testing and support of Windchill.
- Make recommendations for software and hardware improvements.
- Take ownership of technical issues and work with the users and PTC to provide a timely resolution.
- Plan and support data migrations and integration strategies.
- Configure reports to meet the business needs.
- Work closely with project managers and Windchill Admins ensuring change control.
- Mentor and collaborate with team members on design, documentation and implementation.
- Aid in creation of Windchill and Creo work instructions and operating procedures to maintain data integrity and user experience.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline.
- OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 8 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.
- Experience with installation, management, and user and system support of PTC Windchill applications and CREO.
- Demonstrated skills in using, configuring and customizing Windchill.
- Demonstrated skills configuring workflows and customizing Windchill Change Management.
- Experience with eBOM, mBOM, and CAD data management.
- Experience in workflow design and development a plus.
- Experience with Engineering concepts and CREO software is desirable
- Knowledge of Windchill Thingworx, Navigate a plus.
- Oracle or other relational database management systems with experience in Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience with Agile SCRUM development projects.
- Ability to develop robust and maintainable code with clear documentation.
- Application Security - Understanding of how to deliver secure applications and stays current on trends in IT vulnerabilities and counter measures.
- Systems Analysis - Experienced at determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
