The Senior Technical Program Manager – Commissioning Engineer (Cx TPM) is responsible for coordinating and leading commissioning‑related engineering activities across hyperscale and third‑party data center (3
PDC) programs. This role focuses on program‑level technical coordination, due diligence, documentation management, and delivery tracking across a global data center portfolio.
The Senior Cx TPM ensures commissioning readiness, technical alignment, and consistency across multiple sites by managing engineering tools, program documentation, and in‑flight deliverables. This role requires strong commissioning knowledge, the ability to interface across design, construction, and commissioning teams, and the judgment to identify and elevate risks that could impact schedule, quality, or system performance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead coordination of commissioning and engineering tasks across multiple data center sites within the program
- Maintain, revise, and govern program documentation, engineering guides, commissioning standards, and technical tools
- Track and oversee progress of due‑diligence and commissioning deliverables across design, construction, and startup phases
- Continuously monitor in‑flight projects, proactively identifying, escalating, and resolving technical issues or blockers
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams, external designers, commissioning agents, contractors, and client stakeholders
- Regularly review status of site evaluations and commissioning activities, identifying schedule risks or bottlenecks
- Communicate commissioning status, risks, and timeline impacts to program leadership and stakeholders
- Identify discrepancies or inconsistencies across design documents, commissioning plans, contracts, and field execution, and drive resolution
- Support and review high‑level designs and basis‑of‑design documents; deep expertise in all systems is not required
- Support readiness planning and execution for FAT, SAT, IST, and integrated systems testing activities
- Maintain organized, accurate, and auditable technical and contract‑related records in accordance with program standards
- Coordinate technical information and commissioning requirements across multiple sites and regions globally
- Utilize internal program and issue‑tracking tools; training on Apex or client‑specific tools will be provided as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- 7+ years of experience in data center commissioning, mission‑critical engineering, or critical facilities delivery
- Strong familiarity with data center testing, commissioning, and validation processes
- Experience supporting commissioning efforts from design review through integrated systems testing
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work streams simultaneously across a program environment
- Strong attention to detail and sound technical judgment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills to prioritize competing tasks and deadlines
- Proficiency with Google Workspace tools, including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive
- Experience using Google Workspace for communication and collaboration, including Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Meet
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports using Google Sheets or similar tools
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and ability to navigate technical conflicts or delivery challenges
- Experience supporting hyperscale or third‑party data center (3
PDC) programs - Familiarity with mission‑critical systems such as UPS, generators, switch gear, cooling plants, and BMS/controls
- Experience acting as a technical interface between design, construction, and commissioning teams
- Self‑starter mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies in processes, procedures, or tools and drive improvements
