At the heart of a continuous‑strand fiberglass manufacturing operation is the bushing, a precious metal alloy component similar to an extrusion die. The design, manufacture and operation of these bushing components are critical to the success of Original Composites and Fibers. The primary responsibility of the Bushing Technician is to set, troubleshoot, and adjust bushings for optimal performance at customer locations.
These simulations are in support of the activities of the Bushing Design/Support Engineers. The purpose of this assignment is to enhance bushing performance to eliminate waste in support of the global Glass Reinforcements (GR) plants. This position will be located in Amarillo TX, Tlaxcala MX, or suitable locations within North America.

- Issue hardware package to GR plants & verify/update hardware checklist
- Support bushing troubleshooting (performance, bushing life, premature failures
- Support bushing trials (new‑designs)
- With coordination from Engineer, respond to GR plant & alloy inquires
- Create project outlines with plant support and coordination from Engineer
- Offer unique solutions to plant around process & bushing equipment problems
- Complete inspection reports to review with Alloy and share with plants
- Actively involved with plant rebuild support.
- Tracking data at GR plants on specific trial bushings
- Audit SOP’s at GR plants to validate proper usage
- Facilitator at GR plants to insure action plans are taking place to move forward
- Enter work request for print modification
- Enter work request for lab testing
Minimum Qualifications
- AS in Engineering
- Interpersonal skills to communicate across multiple layers of the organization, including Sr management, primary workforce and other technical disciplines
- Proven continuous improvement success to include utilization of root cause analysis.
- Java, or other object‑oriented coding experience
- 2-5 years’ experience in bushing process engineering or operations
- Willing to travel up to 40% - Servicing multiple plant locations in Guelph, Canada/Amarillo, TX/Wichita Falls, TX/Tlaxcala, Mexico
- Ability to communicate with and engage with Plant Leader to Hourly team members.
- Proven problem solver, able to lead a team to define problem, root cause and corrective actions
