Position Overview
The Master Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated project schedules that drive predictable execution across complex federal construction programs. This role ensures schedule integrity, alignment with contract requirements, and real‑time visibility into project performance, supporting QGS’s disciplined delivery model.
The Master Project Scheduler partners closely with Project Management, Construction Operations, Procurement, and Project Controls to establish and maintain a single source of truth for schedule performance. This role is critical in identifying schedule risks early, supporting recovery planning, and enabling data‑driven decision‑making to protect project timelines and overall program success.
Operating within a high‑compliance DOE/NNSA environment, this position ensures all scheduling activities adhere to contractual requirements, audit standards, and enterprise project controls processes. The role requires a high level of analytical rigor, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex schedule data into actionable insights for leadership and field teams.
What You’ll Do- Develop and maintain the Critical Path Method (CPM) project master schedule using Primavera P6, incorporating all project phases, milestones, procurement activities, and contract deliverables
- Perform regular schedule updates with actual progress data; analyze critical path, float, and schedule variances; prepare narrative reports and recovery recommendations
- Coordinate with the Project Superintendent, subcontractors, and procurement to integrate field progress, material deliveries, and resource loading into the schedule
- Prepare and present schedule analysis reports including time impact analyses, delay analyses, and what‑if scenarios to support change order negotiations
- Develop short‑interval look‑ahead schedules and milestone tracking reports for field operations and management review
- Support Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting by integrating schedule data with cost performance metrics
- Maintain schedule baselines and manage the schedule change control process; ensure all revisions are properly documented and approved
- Work a minimum of 50 hours per week; additional hours may be required during critical project milestones or schedule recovery efforts
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
Education and Experience
- Ten (10) or more years of scheduling experience on federal or DOE construction projects
- OSHA 10‑Hour Construction Safety certification (minimum)
- Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) through AACE International
