InThis Role, You Will
- Lead System Integrity:
Act as the technical authority for assigned systems, validating physical configurations, driving Configuration Management (CM) activities, and becoming the control owner for systems within our Documented Safety Analysis. - Influence Design & Safety:
Conduct Electrical Engineering Design Technical Reviews for proposed system modifications, ensuring compliance with design criteria, performance expectations, and Safety Basis requirements. - Solve Complex Challenges:
Originate discipline-specific Engineering Calculations, Evaluations, and Item Equivalencies. Perform Causal Analysis to recommend upgrades, enhancing system durability, reliability, and operability. - Ensure Operational Excellence:
Develop and revise Design Information Summaries, Preventive Maintenance procedures, and specify Surveillance Requirements and In Service Inspections. Spearhead Material Condition Walkdowns and Tracking and Trending reports. - Drive Strategic
Collaboration:
Represent our organization as a key electrical engineering technical contact on major programs and projects. Interact with senior external personnel, coordinating advanced technical matters across various organizations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in an engineering/science discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Masters of Science in an engineering/science discipline.
- PhD in an engineering/science discipline.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States or designated equivalents through ABET Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRA).
- Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA):
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA.
- Master's degree with a minimum 3.3/4.0 cumulative GPA.
- PhD with a minimum 3.5/4.0 cumulative GPA.
- Experience with the use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
- Understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
- Ability to evaluate and provide feedback on new and proposed revisions to technical operating procedures, design drawings and requirements, and facility systems, structures, and components.
- Ability to make informed decisions and support those decisions to peers and senior management.
- In addition to the above requirements, the applicant must also meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, 2 years job‑related and at least 1 year nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE O 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities.
Clearance and Access Requirements
- Requires a Q clearance. All qualified candidates will be considered regardless of current clearance status; ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance is required.
- Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, the candidate must complete a counterintelligence‑scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 709. Medical requirements may apply.
