Lead Project Controls Scheduler
The Lead Project Controls Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules for Primoris Energy Services projects based out of Amarillo, Texas. This role involves ensuring schedule accuracy, identifying potential risks, and providing actionable insights to project teams and management.
Job Responsibilities- Lead the development, maintenance, and analysis of complex project schedules using Primavera P6 for large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to gather project data and integrate it into comprehensive schedules.
- Perform critical path analysis, identify potential delays, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement schedule baselines, monitor progress against baselines, and report on schedule variances.
- Prepare detailed progress reports, schedule narratives, and look-ahead schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct schedule risk analysis and develop contingency plans.
- Ensure adherence to company scheduling procedures, industry best practices, and client requirements.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior schedulers and project controls personnel.
- Participate in project reviews, meetings, and presentations, effectively communicating schedule status and key issues.
- Support change management processes by evaluating the impact of changes on project schedules.
- Utilize earned value management principles to monitor project performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in project scheduling and controls, with a strong focus on large-scale energy or industrial construction projects.
- Expert proficiency in Primavera P6 (P6 EPPM).
- Demonstrated experience leading scheduling efforts on complex, multi-disciplined projects.
- Strong understanding of critical path methodology, earned value management, and schedule risk analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with project management software and reporting tools.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- PMP or PMI-SP certification is a plus.
