What You'll Do- Plan and conduct surveillance and management self-assessments of industrial and construction processes.
- Perform construction, maintenance, and facility safety inspections as assigned.
- Attend pre-bid/pre-construction meetings.
- Review/approve contractor safety documentation.
- Conduct Pre-Hazard Analysis walk downs of proposed construction projects.
- Involve Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) when necessary during construction operations.
- Conduct hazard briefings on construction and industrial safety topics.
- Participate in readiness verifications and assessments for facilities and operations and prepares written reports of findings and recommendations.
- Review applicable regulations and maintain written work procedures to ensure compliance.
- Develop, implement, and maintain industrial safety programs.
- Conduct accident investigations involving personnel/vehicle/property events.
- Participate in worker involvement including input to work planning and methods to identify hazards and controls.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science in Occupational Health and Safety or related field (Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, Fire Science, Health Science, and Safety Management).
- Or Master's of Science in Occupational Health and Safety or related field (Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, Fire Science, Health Science, and Safety Management).
- OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 8 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.
In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, 2 years job‑related and at least 1 year nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative). DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities.

Job Requirements
- Experience with construction and industrial safety processes for the identification of potential hazards
- General knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and Department of Energy (DOE) safety & health regulations
- General knowledge of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) requirements

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
