Financial Controller​/Senior Account Manager

This is a full-time on-site role for a Financial Controller at J and L Backhoe Company based in Amarillo, TX. The Financial Controller will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing financial reporting and accounting processes, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. This role will also involve overseeing budgeting and forecasting processes, monitoring financial performance, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Additionally, the Financial Controller will collaborate with internal departments to support strategic financial planning and decision-making. Benefits within the company include 401 K, Medical Insurance, and paid time off.

• Strong expertise in Financial Statements, Financial Reporting, and Accounting
• Solid background in Finance and Analytical Skills
• Proficiency in relevant financial software and systems
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus
• Previous experience in a similar financial or accounting role
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and financial auditing practices
• Prefer 6+ years of public accounting experience or 9+ years of private accounting experience
• Must be a great teacher and know QB desktop and QB online in/outs related to bookkeeping and payroll
• Must be able to review GAAP financial statements
• Must understand sales tax in Texas, create a sales tax account, and file sales tax
• Basic knowledge of tax accounting for partnerships and Corporations
• I’m the overall direct report responsible for the department, but the partner responsible for that client will be responsible for review the work
• A constant 40hrs work week with the usual overtime around deadlines, but not beyond 50hrs a week.
