DescriptionThe Branch Lending and Operations Manager I is responsible for observing and assisting with overall operations at branch locations to ensure policy and procedures are being followed and reporting recommendations to administrative officers. Generally, branch size is less than $30 mm in deposits. The manager processes loan data and credit information, analyzes and evaluates credit‑worthiness, and sets payment terms.
Responsibilities- Observe and assist with overall operations at branch locations.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with bank products and services.
- Assist all branch employees with daily activities to ensure compliance with Federal and Bank regulations, policies and procedures.
- Call on potential customers and introduce the bank's products and services.
- Visit existing customers to obtain potential business referrals.
- Work with customers to determine mutually acceptable and beneficial lending arrangements.
- Resolve customer complaints and/or problems.
- Develop new product recommendations to generate additional business.
- Develop and maintain business relationships with customers.
- Communicate with existing customers regarding their deposits to determine if they have additional needs.
- Originate consumer loans: interview applicants, gather information and process preliminary documents on loan requests.
- Work with the Regional Team in resolving personnel issues such as interviewing, assisting with hiring branch staff and helping determine staffing needs.
- Originate and manage consumer and light commercial portfolios.
- Ensure lending operations are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures and are legally compliant.
- Evaluate and verify loan applications and credit criteria, including computing debt ratios, verifying employment and income. Approve loans within limits of authority and notify applicants of loan decisions; request additional information if required.
- May be required to work an alternative location within the region or market.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely.
- Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience
High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on‑the‑job education in areas such as data processing, clerical/administrative or equipment operation, plus 5 years related experience and/or training, and 12 to 18 months related management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Software SkillsIntermediate:
Alphanumeric Data Entry, Contact Management, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing. Basic:

Ability to read and understand policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person‑to‑person and small group situations with customers, clients, and the general public; present information effectively to managers and groups.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate and apply concepts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, ratios, and other basic mathematical operations.
Critical Thinking SkillsAbility to solve practical problems and handle a variety of variables in situations with limited standardization; interpret written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
Additional Information- Three plus (3+) years working in a bank environment gaining knowledge of general operations and experience in consumer lending.
- Must be registered with Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System.
- Must have working experience in customer service and teamwork.
- Must be able to develop relationships with branch managers and all bank employees.
