GTC Asset Specialist

The GTC Asset Specialist position is a data entry focused role. This position is responsible for processing paperwork for purchase and sale transactions in accounts that hold alternative assets.

Gold Star Trust Company is a self-directed IRA Custodian established in 1989. Gold Star is not a fiduciary. Client’s direct investment purchases and sales transactions inside their accounts via submission of specific paperwork. Gold Star’s role is to process the client’s directed asset transactions, produce market value statements and complete tax reporting to the IRS.

• 1. Process and prepare requests to liquidate alternative assets in operating system.
• 2. Process and prepare requests for in-kind distribution of alternative asset.
• 3. Prepare various orders to complete requested transaction from client or broker.
• 4. Reconcile with reporting entity and ensure records are accurate.
• 5. Conduct research as needed.
• 6. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• 7. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
• 8. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc plus 7 - 11 months related experience and/or training.

Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.
