Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
  • Responsible for the delivery of crisis intervention services and follow up for people in the upper 21 counties of the Panhandle of Texas
  • Work as part of a Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) to provide direct care services for the TPC service area
  • Work closely with community stakeholders including law enforcement (CIT, police officers, judges, sheriff’s), hospitals and other social services
  • Provide community education to help others access crisis services and understand mental health conditions and treatment resources
  • Work with people experiencing a crisis using person-centered approaches
  • Document all interventions according to agency standards
  • Be a part of an after-hours on-call rotation
  • Some travel may be required to reach more rural areas of the Texas Panhandle
  • Requires visiting hospitals to meet with clients, establish care plans, and continue providing care after the clients are discharged and move into their community
  • All services will be provided using evidence-based practices that are person-centered and trauma-informed
  • Need to have the skills necessary to build rapport and establish trusting relationships with clients right after a crisis situation
  • Introduce clients to a range of services offered by TPC and other community services and will provide care coordination to facilitate access to these resources
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case staffing to develop treatment approaches that best fit the needs to the client
  • Maintain same-day, next-day documentation requirements and a 95% or higher compliance average for all individuals served
  • Other essential functions and tasks necessary to carry out the purposes of the position will be required
  • Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised
Required qualifications to be successful in the job:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a major in psychology, sociology, social work, counseling, or other related human services field for QMHP credentialing
  • For Case Manager II, minimum one (1) year of experience in behavioral health case management
  • For Case Manager III, minimum two (2) years of experience in behavioral health case management
  • Graduate work in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of experience
