Position:
Floor Technician
Position Summary:
The Floor Technician is responsible for major cleaning and refinishing functions throughout the hospital in accordance with Environmental Services Department procedures. Provides cleaning services for patients, families and staff. Maintains a professional demeanor in accordance with service excellence standards while interacting with patients, families, and coworkers (including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics).
This position is responsible for the major floor cleaning and refinishing functions. Cleaning in areas assigned per schedules using prescribed methods. Responsibilities include dust mopping, wet/spot mopping, scrubbing with an automatic scrubbing machine and burnishing floors according to daily and weekly schedules.

Ability to understand and communicate in English both verbally and in writing. A high school diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment associated with floor maintenance in a commercial or healthcare setting.
Skills:
Ability to operate equipment provided by the department to facilitate procedures.
