Overview
We are seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to join Texas Oncology at the Amarillo Breast Specialist clinic located at 9092 Westgate Parkway W Suite 203. This full‑time role will support patients and staff, with a typical work week Monday‑Friday 8:00‑5:00. The position is offered at Level 1, 2 or Senior based on experience.
What does the Patient Services Coordinator do?The Coordinator professionally greets and welcomes patients, registers and schedules appointments, answers and screens incoming calls, and supports the US Oncology Compliance Program.
Responsibilities- Greets patients and visitors, checks them in, and informs clinical staff of arrival.
- Provides and explains paperwork, submits forms, updates demographic and insurance information, collects co‑pays and gives receipts.
- Answers, screens, and responds to routine questions, routes calls, and takes thorough messages.
- Checks patients out, schedules follow‑up appointments, and provides appointment details.
- Records cancellations, missed appointments, and reschedules as needed.
- Provides general administrative support, files charts, and maintains lobby area decor.
- Adheres to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Performs additional duties as requested.
- Level 1:
High‑school diploma or equivalent. Some receptionist or office experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook. Must complete required e‑learning within 90 days. - Level 2:
All Level 1 requirements plus at least 18 months of front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software. - Senior:
All Level 1 and 2 requirements plus at least 5 years of front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.
Employee must sit regularly, use hands, occasionally stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 30 pounds. Vision and hearing normal ranges required.
