Sr Patient Services Specialist

This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation ofthe clinic patient flow and serving as the primary contact for patients. Responsible for scheduling appointments, preparingnecessary paperwork before the patient visits, receiving patients,and maintaining records. In addition, this position is responsible for processing charges for clinic services, filing insurance claims, responding to requests for information from patients and insurance companies and maintaining related information for the department.

Work is performed in usual clinic conditions and requires a high degree of direct contact with patients, staff, and insurance companies. Employees may have cash-handlingresponsibilities.

• Greet patients warmly and sincerely as they arrive at theclinic or call in via phone.
• Act as the patient's guide and advocate through the administrative details of their clinic visits.
• Identify and update patient information by navigating multiplecomputer systems and inputting accurate data.
• Receive all incoming calls for the clinic and distributeinformation accordingly.
• Calculate and collect payment for clinic services.
• Ensure patient benefits have been verified and input accuratelyupon check-in.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Assist with appointment reminder calls and missed appointmentservice recovery.
• Coordinate clinic schedule information with providers andstaff.
• Maintain a professional customer service atmosphere for patients, providers, and staff.
