The Care Center Manager serves as supervising embalmer of the facility, assisting in the performance of duties for the embalming team as well as managing the daily activities. The Care Center Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the embalming activities and assists in selection of staff, training, and ongoing communications to assure the location’s embalmers maintain Legacy’s premier level of client satisfaction.
This role must be performed consistently with the company’s mission and values and in adherence to company policies and procedures.
Specific Responsibilities- Oversee all preparation room and embalming activities
- Oversee all crematory operations including paperwork review with our certified crematory operators
- Oversee and coordinate all transportation and removale teams
- Care for the deceased in a respectful manner while performing a variety of tasks which includes: embalming, removals and transfers, cosmetology, dressing, hairstyling, and any other preparation required for human remains
- Run crematory as needed
- Adhere to all professional, municipal, state/provincial and federal licensing authority regulations applicable to embalming and preparing human remains
- Create and maintain an Embalming report for all deceased prepared, ensuring that all company removal paperwork is completed accurately.
- Keep and maintain a log of all deceased in their care as well as those transferred from our care.
- Promote a safe work environment by being aware of and practicing universal precautions and adopting general principles of safe conduct
- Assist with maintenance of preparation room and the facility; receive and maintain inventory for caskets and other funeral home supplies

- Maintain accurate records for vital statistics, permits, and state or federal mortuary laws.
- Texas Funeral Director and Embalming licenses required
- Working knowledge of Care Center operations, processes, procedures, and standards
- Knowledge of computers and software applications is required
- Crematory Certificate or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record
- Certified Crematory Operator with 3 years of experience
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience required
