The HR Manager ensures HR programs, policies, and practices align with organizational goals while providing guidance and support to managers and employees throughout the employee lifecycle. This role requires strong relationship-building skills, sound judgment, excellent communication, and the ability to balance long term goals with routine operational tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department.
- Manage full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
- Serve as the primary HR resource for employee relations matters, policy interpretation, and employee support.
- Deploy, administer, and maintain the organization's performance evaluation process.
- Coordinate performance review timelines, manager training, and follow-up activities to ensure consistency and accountability.
- Maintain and oversee the organization's job description architecture, ensuring positions accurately reflect responsibilities and organizational needs.
- Design, coordinate, and continuously improve employee training programs.
- Partner with department leaders to identify training needs and support employee development initiatives.
- Assist leadership with workforce planning and succession planning efforts.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and organizational policies.
- Maintain HRIS data integrity and utilize system capabilities to support HR operations and reporting.
- Support organizational culture initiatives by continuous conversations to learn and reinforce desired workplace behaviors and values.
- Provide coaching and guidance to supervisors and managers regarding employee management practices.
- Collaborate with the Employee Experience Coordinator to support onboarding, engagement, recognition, and employee-focused initiatives.
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Assist with organizational development and change management initiatives as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Comprehensive knowledge of human resources principles and practices.
- Understanding of employee relations, performance management, recruiting, training, and employment law.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build credibility and trust.
- Ability to coach and influence at multiple levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
- Experience utilizing HRIS systems and HR reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee relations, recruiting, performance management, and organizational development responsibilities.
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Performance management and learning management platforms preferred
