Role SummaryThe Lead Workforce Development Trainer supports employee growth by delivering training programs and workshops for both field and office staff, focusing on supervisory skills, work readiness, team collaboration, and communication. This senior‑level role anticipates business needs, designs training programs, analyzes feedback, mentors junior trainers, and works closely with senior leadership.
Responsibilities Recruitment- Organize and attend local job and career fairs.
- Coordinate recruitment efforts with Marketing and Business Development teams.
- Process field applications submitted via
- Interview and assess field applicants, providing next steps.
- Align hiring needs with local union representatives.
- Explore and engage with local and national recruitment programs.
- Design onboarding program content and duration based on local needs assessments.
- Coordinate onboarding materials with Corporate Learning & Development and Safety departments.
- Facilitate onboarding sessions focused on culture, safety, and skills.
- Administer written and hands‑on skills assessments.
- Manage Docu Sign paperwork for new hires.
- Deliver hands‑on training modules for various classifications.
- Facilitate basic skills training for new industry entrants.
- Lead boot‑camp style sessions for sub‑journeyman level employees.
- Coordinate and/or facilitate Foreman Development Series and field supervision training.
- Develop app‑based and software‑based training.
- Customize training content to meet local needs.
- Promote the Rosendin Field Operations Manual and internal processes.
- Coordinate with external consultants or vendors for specialized training.
- Promote Rosendin culture, core values, mission statement, and vision.
- Pursue and coordinate grant & training reimbursement opportunities.
- Pursue and coordinate continued education credits.
- Track and report training metrics.
- Capture participant feedback on all trainings via survey.
- Communicate upcoming schedule & direction with corporate Learning & Development Team.
- Participate in personal continued education & development.
- Develop new training content as needed.
- Participate in peer reviews of newly developed or extensively modified content.
- Participate in scheduled Workforce Development meetings.
- Assign (recommend) Linked In Learning paths & content to field employees.
- Counsel & coach struggling field employees.
- Connect field & office teams through joint training opportunities.
- Manage additional local training resources (if needed).
- Promote a positive community presence.
- Proven work experience in a training or similar role.
- Understanding of electrical construction and contracting.
- Ability to speak comfortably in front of a classroom audience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Analyze business and training needs for improvement.
- Experience in developing and implementing training programs.
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience.
- 6+ years of related experience.
- Union experience preferred.
- Instructional Design certification preferred.
- Presentation skills preferred.
- Up to 30%.
- General work environment includes sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending; primarily indoors.
- Noise level low to medium, can be loud on the jobsite.
- Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
